Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful or distressing experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or intrusive. When trauma occurs, memories can become "stuck", causing ongoing symptoms such as anxiety, flashbacks, or emotional reactivity.

EMDR uses gentle bilateral stimulation through eye movements, tapping, or sound to help both sides of your brain work together process these memories. This process allows the mind to integrate  past experiences in a healthier way, reducing emotional distress and strengthening a sense of safety and control in the present.
